For some time now, David Silver, leader of our YMAA Tai Chi Ball program has been thinking about creating something remarkable and unique for YMAA tai chi lovers.
For the past year, our team of designers, artisans and craftspeople have been dreaming, experimenting, and planning how to create something very different. We've listened as our clients told us they wanted a higher-quality tai chi ball that reflects more of their
personae. We heard that clients wanted something even more masterful and worthy of a very special place in their lives. Our response, to our clients, will be something we are thinking of creating called the “Artisan Tai Chi Ball.”
You may think of the Artisan Tai Chi Ball as a living, breathing piece of artwork as well as a very special workout tool you will use every day.
The Artisan Balls will be something very special that can be displayed as a symbol of wisdom and energy in your home. It will be a curiosity-stirring conversation piece that opens many doors
to the heart and mind, leading to years of enlightening conversations. Our vision is that you will delightfully display your own unique Artisan Ball proudly, as well as using it for your tai chi workouts.
The one-of-a-kind Artisan Tai Chi Ball will be hand-crafted for just you — and you alone. This will not be an off-the-shelf product. It will be something far more distinctive, personal and exciting.
When we send out our invitations to schedule your Artisan Tai Chi Ball soon, we’ll be offering something very different. In this experience you will actually be reserving time with our master-crafting wood sculptor, who will painstakingly create and hand-make the Artisan Tai Chi Ball design that best reflects your character and personality.
This Artisan Ball is unlike anything we have ever done before for our clients. The few we make will be very special for the few clients who are able to reserve time with our master wood-craft artist. We won’t be making very many and no two will be alike. The Artisan Tai Chi Balls will be made of a mixture of different kinds of sustainably-farmed wood, which will be carefully kiln-dried, cut, sculpted, painstakingly pieced together, perfectly balanced, sanded to a fine polish, and finished with a mixture of natural wax and oil to preserve it for years.
Our premier seasoned tai chi ball inspector will carefully examine your ball by hand, for feel, balance and to gauge the energetic integrity of each ball. You will have behind-the-scenes access to the process, including progress photos and video of your ball as it is being made for you. You will watch key stages of the birth and development as your Artisan Tai Chi Ball is brought to life for you.
